Spa services are available at an additional fee. El Dorado Royale places a high emphasis on their spa. We encourage you to reserve treatments early during your stay. A new, larger and grander spa recently opened to accommodate the huge demand. Therapeutic and Beauty Shop services offered include: Shiatsu, Thalassotherapy, Milk bath, Thermal mud wrap, Dorado Deluxe, Thermal mud massage, Facials, Exfoliating Body Scrub, Shower Massage, Manicure, Pedicure, Haircut, Shampoo, Braiding, Hairstyling and Wedding preparations. Customized intimate treatments may be arranged in your room, or in a larger treatment room for bridal groups. Beachfront couples moonlight mssages are extremely popular. And the latest option is the over-water Sky Massage bungalows for individual or couples treatments.

Activities

There are plenty of activities if you wish, including: 13 pools, one of which is a natural salt water pool; daily activities and entertainment program, including beach volleyball, aqua-aerobics, salsa lessons, low impact aerobics, meditation, Tai-Chi classes, and yoga; non-motorized water sports including the gear for paddleboats, kayaks and snorkeling; Scuba clinics in the pool; bicycles and tennis; two hard surface lighted tennis courts - rackets and balls included; fitness center including sauna and Turkish baths; shopping tours to Cancun and Playa del Carmen.

BEACH:
The beach is over a mile long and very wide. For folks who long to walk along the beach and complain about some resorts that don't allow that - it's different here! The over-water pier was added in October 2012. Looking for something unique - perhaps private? There are a plethora of four poster thatched roof beach beds with curtains for privacy. So find a good book or perhaps a good partner and snuggle in comfort to the sound of the waves. You can even arrange a sleepover in a specially prepared beach bed. There is even a salt water pool perfect for snorkeling. Warning - there are sandbags (artificial reefs is the term) in the ocean which can be unsightly if you focus on them. However, they do a great job of breaking the hard waves, making the ocean here a great location to wade, snorkel and frolic. More importantly there is no erosion here, unlike Cancun and more recently the Playacar area. You will love being pampered by the beach waiters who take your drink orders.

Plenty of non-motorized water activities such as paddleboats, kayaks, and snorkeling are included. Motorized water activities are available for an additional fee.

Food/Drink

RESTAURANTS (9): Reservations are not required. All restaurants are Non-Smoking. Casita guests may make dinner resrvations.
(Dress Code for Cocotal, D'Italian, & Kampai: NO t-shirts, tank tops, shorts, bermudas, tennis shoes or beach sandals. All other Restaurants: Shirt with sleeves, dress shorts or pants, dress shoes or sandals (no tennis shoes or beach sandals)

COCOTAL: This is a specialty restaurant with a changing menu. Located in the lower level of the main lobby Cocotal is open for breakfast, Brunch (Sat & Sun), and Dinner. Air conditioned

LA ISLA: Open air under an enormously high thatched palapa roof, located next to the main swimming pool. Open at 6am for Continental Breakfast and beginning at 7am a la carte breakfast is available. Also open for lunch (you really have to try the crapes) and for dinner featuring Mediterranean Cuisine. The ambiance is incredibly relaxing. You pass over the lazy river pool by way of a wooden bridge to enter.

D'ITALIA Villas: Contemporary Italian cuisine. Everyone loves D'Italia, it is the most  popular restaurant at El Dorado Royale. It is absolutely wonderful and a must for all guests at least once. Open for dinner only. Air conditioned.

D'ITLAIA Casitas: This, the second of the fabulous Italian restaurants was created by popular demand and is located in the Casitas section. Open for dinner only. Air Conditioned.

KAMPAI: Located in the Casita section, this air conditioned venue offers Oriental/Pacific cuisine and is remarkably authentic. Practice with your chop sticks. Kampai serves an outstanding breakfast and lunch, a real convenience for Casita guests.

JO JO'S: The staff at ULTIMATE CRUISE & VACATION has a ritual. When we check in to El Dorado Royale we dump off our bags, take pictures and video's of our room and head straight for Jo Jo's for a fantastic lunch and some cold cerveza. The typical lunch menu includes appetizers like ceviche, fish fingers, and Pacific Clam Chowder. Among our favorite entrees: Burgers (they even have their own menu), Mahi Mahi, Grouper, Fajitas, and Ribs. The ice cream is very good! Located on the beach this is a covered open air venue. During dinner you can see the lights from Cozumel and the passing cruise ships while you dine on mouthwatering Caribbean dishes.  The menu is far too extensive to tackle but there's something for everyone. Don't miss this one. Open for lunch and dinner.

LA FONDUE: The name implies it all. Select cheeses accompany a variety of meats. Menu consists of various pre-arranged combinations of meat, suasage or seafood selections paired with select cheeses. Desert options include white or dark chocolate. The wine list will surprise you. Located in the Casita section. This place is fun and delicious. It is open air, however located on the second level allowing good ocean breezes.

FUENTES: We are thrilled to say that we dined in Fuentes on Opening Night with the top executives from Karisma Resorts and Funjet Vacations. A very large, air conditioned restaurant under an amazing palapa roof. This is Latin gourmet fare with a wrinkle. The kitchen is open for observation and the cooking techniques are broadcast on large screen monitors in the restaurant for your viewing pleasure.

RINCON MX: This is the newest addition to the growing collection of restaurants and this one actually evolved from an outdoor lunch-only option. Opening in the summer of 2012 Rincon transformed into a nice air conditioned glass-walled dining room open for lunch and dinner. We were highly impressed with the quality of the authentic Mexican cuisine and the creativity of their creations!

PIZZERIA: Enjoy an amazing variety of fresh pizza's from wood-burning ovens by the beach. Also the place for fantastic angus burgers, gourmet bites and more. Open 11am - 5pm.

*The meals at El Dorado Royale are a la carte. Never a mandatory buffet. If you are a picky eater and afraid of the stories you've heard about all-inclusives you should seriously consider this resort - you will not be disappointed.

HEALTHY CORNER: Serves fresh fruits, whole-wheat sandwiches, energy enhancing shakes, juices and smoothies.  Open from 8am until 4pm.

BARS: 14
LOBBY BAR MARTINIS:    Opened with the new lobby, incredibly beautiful non-smoking lounge is entered into from the Main Lobby. Prove your worth on the pool table. An outdoor balcony area that overlooks the resort is available for smoking. Now open between noon and 2am.

LAS GUACAMAYAS:    This is the place to go for shows and live music until 2am. Open air and fun. This bar features swings for two while you enjoy Mexican beers, tequila and live music. Located next to La Carreta restaurant.

LA ISLA:    In the main pool. Open until 5pm.

LAS FUENTES SWIM UP BAR:    Located at Las Fuentes swimming pool. Open until 5pm.

COTORROS: This is a healthy bar serving fresh friuts, wholewheat cookies and smoothies, in the Casita section.

PERICOS:    Swim Up. Located in the 2500's Casita section. Open until 5pm.

PAPAGAYOS:    Swim Up. Located in the 2600's Casita section. Open until 5pm.

PELICANOS:    Swim Up. Located in the 2700's Casita section. Open until 5pm.

TUCANES:    Swim Up. Located in the pool behind La Isla Restaurant - a very central location. Offers shaded areas. Open until 5pm.

COLIBRI:    Swim Up. Located in the 2800's Casita section. Open unil 5pm.

QUETZAL:    Swim Up. Located in the 2900's Casita section. Open until pm.

FAISANES:    Swim Up.  Located in the 3000's Casita section. Open until 5p.

GOLONDRINAS:    Swim Up.  Located in the 3100's Casita section. Open until 5pm.

GAVIOTAS SEASHORE BAR:    Located in front of Kampai restaurant. Open 8am - 11pm.

BEACH BAR:    Located next to JoJo's on the beach by the main pool until 2am. Great place for conversation, background music and views and breezes from the ocean. This is the quieter of the two night time bars.

ROOMS: 644 rooms in ten categories
GARDEN VIEW, OCEAN VIEW, OCEAN FRONT, and SWIM-UP JACUZZI JUNIOR SUITES - Adults Only

All El Dorado Royale junior suites have indoor Jacuzzi's and feature lovely wooden furniture including king size or double beds, nightstands, and a desk. Conveniences include air conditioning, ceiling fans, satellite TV, telephone, coffee maker, radio and alarm clock, iron and ironing board, and safety deposit box. The mini-bar is stocked daily with complimentary beer, soda and bottled water. The bathrooms are good-sized, featuring marble counters, amenities such as lotions, shampoo, hair dryers etc, good lighting and large showers with a tile seat. Newer sections have oube sinks. You have use of the logo bathrobe and slippers during your stay.

Each suite is part of a three story building housing no more than 13 units and allowing plenty of breathing space between buildings. First floor patios and upper level balconies feature comfortable chairs and wonderful hammocks. You can say adios to stress. Listening to the relaxing sounds of the fountains or Caribbean sea while being caressed by the Caribbean breeze will definitely melt away any anxiety. These sections are closest to the main lobby.

The Garden View Junior Suites truly have wonderful garden views. The Ocean View Junior Suites offer beautiful ocean views. The Ocean Front Junior Suites are steps from the beach and offer direct ocean views. The latest creations, Swim-up Jacuzzi Junior Suites offer a lazy river to step in to in front of your Jacuzzi Suite patio. Your lazy river leads to a main pool and swim-up bar.
